A Managed Broadcast Operation for Enterprise Communications

24/7Remote monitoring

100,000+Global employees

50Countries

As UBS expanded its internal communications and financial programming needs, it required more than a modernized studio. It needed a professional broadcast operation capable of supporting live and on-demand content for over 100,000 employees across more than 50 countries.

Beginning in 2019, UBS partnered with BMG to design, build and operate a scalable media environment in New York City used for financial programming, executive communications, interviews, podcasts, and internal broadcasts.

What started as a broadcast consulting and facility design project evolved into a long-term managed services partnership. BMG designed and built the control room, studio, and podcast production spaces, connected the facility to the BMG Cloud Control Center™ for remote monitoring and disaster recovery, implemented media asset management, and continues to provide the operational, engineering, and production support behind UBS’s enterprise communications workflow.

The Challenge – Modernizing Financial Communications

UBS needed to modernize its New York production environment at a time when video was becoming more important to how the firm communicated with employees, brokers, and leadership teams around the world. The facility had to support polished live and on-demand programming, but it also needed to operate while adhering to the security, reliability, and compliance expectations of a global financial institution.

Serving a Global Internal Audience

UBS needed to support live and on-demand content for more than 100,000 employees across over 50 countries. That meant the production environment had to be reliable, scalable, and built for high-volume enterprise communications, not just occasional studio use.

Turning a Studio Into an Operating Model

The project was not only about building a studio, control room, and podcast space. UBS needed the workflows, staffing support, documentation, engineering oversight, and day-to-day operating structure to make the facility usable long term.

Connecting On-Site Production to Remote Support

The client needed the control and quality of an on-site New York facility, while also gaining the flexibility, redundancy, monitoring, and disaster recovery of a cloud-connected production model through BMG’s Cloud Control Center™.

Managing Content Beyond the Live Production

As UBS produced more internal programming, the content needed to be stored, organized, retrieved, versioned, and reused. That made MAM an important part of the operation, especially for remote editors and future production workflows.

The Solution: A Full-Service Managed Broadcast Model

BMG delivered an end-to-end managed services and systems integration solution that connected facility design, technical infrastructure, creative development, media asset management, hybrid operations, and ongoing support.

Phase 01

Consulting and Workflow Design

BMG began working with UBS’s internal communications team in 2019 to define the creative, technical, and operational requirements for the new production environment.

The process included stakeholder meetings, site surveys, infrastructure analysis, workflow planning, and evaluation of UBS’s existing production facilities. BMG identified the upgrades needed for the control room, studio, and podcast studio, and developed the roadmap for live and recorded production workflows.

This consulting phase established the foundation for a hybrid production model that could connect the New York facility to BMG’s cloud ecosystem.

Phase 02

Facility Design and Systems Integration

BMG’s systems integration team designed and built UBS’s original New York broadcast facility, establishing the production foundation for the firm’s internal communications and financial programming.

As UBS later consolidated space in its New York City office, the firm again partnered with BMG to design and build a next-generation hybrid production environment, completed at the end of 2025.

The project included the control room, studio, podcast production space, production systems, routing, IT architecture, lighting grid, audio systems, and technical infrastructure required to support live and recorded programming.

BMG also engineered redundant IT and signal paths and connected the facility to BMG’s Cloud Control Center™ in Washington, DC, enabling remote monitoring, technical support, and disaster recovery.

Creative Studio and Set Design

In addition to the technical build, BMG’s creative team designed and installed the full studio set, monitor wall, lighting design, sightlines, and branded visual environment.

The space was designed to support multiple programming formats, including financial news updates, interviews, executive communications, podcasts, and internal broadcasts.

The goal was to give UBS a flexible production environment that could maintain professional visual quality while staying aligned with UBS’s global brand standards.

Media Asset Management and Content Workflows

As UBS expanded its production capabilities, BMG implemented a Media Asset Management system to support centralized content storage, retrieval, versioning, and reuse.

This gives UBS a more organized way to manage the content created through the facility, while also supporting remote editors and future production workflows.

MAM is an important part of the larger managed services model because it helps connect production, post-production, archive, and distribution instead of treating each piece as a separate process.

Staffing, Operations, and Managed Services

BMG continues to provide managed services support for UBS’s daily production operations.

That includes technical direction, graphics, editing, production management, engineering oversight, remote monitoring, troubleshooting, production assistance, documentation, training, ongoing maintenance, and IT support.

Through the BMG Cloud Control Center™, UBS has access to centralized monitoring, remote support, and disaster recovery capabilities that help keep the operation reliable and scalable over time.

Impact

Through BMG’s managed services model, UBS transformed its New York production environment into a professional broadcast operation built for enterprise communications.

The facility gives UBS the ability to produce polished live and on-demand programming for its employees worldwide while maintaining the security, reliability, and control required in a financial environment.

By connecting the on-site facility to BMG’s Cloud Control Center™, UBS also gained remote monitoring, redundancy, disaster recovery, and long-term technical support. With MAM integrated into the workflow, UBS can better organize, retrieve, and reuse content created through the facility.

For UBS, the result is a managed media operation that supports internal communications, financial programming, content access, and future growth.
